Does Your Pet Need Care?
While we are not privy to the guidelines used to determine who will qualify for the 9PetCheck, we can give you the following details:
Registration Phone Bank Hours: Monday, March 31, 2014 from 4:00–6:30 p.m.

Appointment Dates: Saturday, April 5 or Sunday, April 6
Services Provided: A complete nose-to-tail wellness exam and Rabies vaccination, if needed
Other Details: Wellness exams are available to cats and dogs only, and are limited to two pets per-household
If you’re unable to provide veterinary care and live near or below the poverty level, we encourage you to call for a screening and appointment.
The 9PetCheck Wellness Visit
At your pet’s 9PetCheck wellness exam, we will work off the following checklist to evaluate your cat or dog’s overall health:

General Appearance: mentation, body condition score and hydration evaluation

Skin and Coat: masses, skin conditions, level of grooming

Musculoskeletal: pain, range of motion, alignment, swelling

Circulatory: Auscultation and evaluation for murmurs and arrhythmias

Respiratory: Auscultation, sinus issues

Gastrointestinal: Abdominal masses, fluid, pain

Urogenital: Evaluate kidney size and shape, bladder comfort, anatomy

Eyes: Direct ophthalmoscopy to evaluate for infection, corneal ulcers, cataracts etc

Ears: Visualization for infection, masses or foreign bodies

Neurologic: Conscious proprioception, cranial nerves, and ambulation

Lymph Node: Palpation

Mucous Membranes: Evaluation for color and moisture

Oral Cavity: infection, periodontal disease, masses, odor

Identification: microchip, collar, ID tags

Pain Assessment: loss of normal behavior, reaction to touch, and physiological parameters
