In the veterinary world, traditionally February is celebrated as National Pet Dental Health Month. Seven Hills Animal Hospital knows how important dental health is to our pets, though. That is why we have a new program to help make every month dental health month for our furry friends!

Why care about dental care?

According to a study done by the American Veterinary Dental Association, up to 80% of dogs and 70% of cats will have some form of dental disease by the age of three! Bacteria combine with saliva and food on the teeth and gums, causing plaque to form. Eventually this becomes a hard substance called tartar. The accumulation of plaque and tartar on the teeth can lead to inflammation and destruction of the tissues that support the teeth. This leads to periodontal disease and, untreated, can result in oral pain as well as the eventual loss of teeth. Even more importantly, dental disease can directly lead to damage to other organs such as the liver, heart, and kidneys secondary to the inflammation and infection.

Here’s the deal!

In order to help celebrate dental health every month, in lieu of the typical February-only discounts in the past, Seven Hills Animal Hospital will be awarding one lucky client a $25 credit on their account each month! By bringing your pet in for dental work, you will automatically be entered in the monthly drawing. We hope to see your name in a monthly drawing in the near future!
